Portugal go into the game as early favourites to go through to next year’s European championships that are being hosted in Poland and Ukraine.
Portugal are going to be captained by Cristiano Ronaldo who has been in sensational domestic form scoring 13 goals in his opening nine games. Portugal also welcome back defensive duo Pepe and Fabio Coentrao this will definitely aid Portugal’s leaky defence. They also welcome attacking midfielder Danny and centre forward Hugo Almeida back to the squad for the game.
Bosnia’s most notable player is Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko who has scored 10 in 11 games and will no doubt lead their attack. Bosnia also include defender Sanel Jahic for the game and will offer cover for suspended pair Sasa Papac and Boris Pandza who both picked up yellow cards in the game against France.
The opening leg will be held in Bosnia which isn’t going to be an easy atmosphere for Portugal’s player and I believe that Bosnia will be hard to beat at home, which makes me think that they will be happy with a draw from the game I think it will be 1-1. In contrast I believe that Portugal will win comfortably at home and I predict a 2-0 in Lisbon, meaning they will line up for the Euro 2012 tournament next summer.
Portugal’s squad is much more superior than the Bosnia squad. Stars in the Portugal squad include Pepe, Coentrao, Ronaldo and Nani who all play at the highest level in domestic football (Real Madrid and Manchester United) and I believe it will be a great shame if one of the worlds best players won’t be at the tournament. Both of these teams finished second in their qualifying group and Bosnia would have been top of the group if they hadn’t of conceded a late goal from Samir Nasri when the teams met in Paris.
